Students will devleop their oral fluency and conversation skills whilst studying contemporary topics. The AS course consists of two units of assessment, the content of which is based on the following four topics: Media - Television/Advertising/Communication technology Popular culture - Cinema/Music/Fashion and trends Healthy living/lifestyle - Sport and Exercise/Health and wellbeing/Holidays Family/relationships - Relationships within the family/Friendships/Marriage and partnerships. Assessment Unit 1: Listening, reading and writing examination (70% of AS, 35% of A Level) 2 hours Unit 2: Speaking examination (30% of AS, 15% of A Level) 35 minutes .
