A BTEC Extended Certificate is designed to provide highly specialist work-related qualifications in a range of vocational sectors. They provide knowledge, understanding and skills that students need to prepare for employment and Higher Education. Units of Work This course is held over a period of two years. In the first year you will study: Health and Safety in the Workplace Engineering Drawing for Technicians Welding Technology During the second year you will study: Electrical and Electronic Principles Engineering Secondary and Finishing Techniques Computer Aided Manufacturing You complete regular written coursework assignments to fulfil the assessment criteria. Course Length Two years. Career Progression On successful completion of a BTEC Extended Certificate qualification, you can progress to employment, continue studying in a related vocational area, or study Engineering at a higher level.
