YEAR 12 Unit 1: Principles and Applications of Science. This includes some of the key theory in biology, chemistry and physics. It is assessed by an exam at the end of Year 12. Unit 2: Practical Scientific Procedures and Techniques. This is based on practical chemistry, it includes titration, colorimetry, calorimetry, and chromatography. It is assessed from a portfolio of assignments. YEAR 13 Unit 3: Science Investigation Skills. In lessons you will learn to plan an investigation, carry out risk assessments, analyse data, and then to evaluate your data and method. The experiments will include Enzymes, Diffusion of Molecules, Plant Growth, Fuels and Electrical Circuits. Unit X: Optional Unit. In recent years we have chosen units on Electrical Circuits, Energy, and Human Physiology. It is assessed from a portfolio.
