Emergency First Aid at Work - Level 2

This course provides candidates with the confidence and skills required to deal with a first aid incident at work. The candidate will:- 1. Be aware of the current first aid protocols 2. Be aware of the reporting procedures for accidents/injuries 3. Be able to prioritise a multiple casualty incident 4. Be skilled in CPR and current first aid techniques to deal with medical emergencies Course Content * The aims of First Aiders * The role & responsibilities of a First Aider * Accident forms * Managing an incident * Hygiene requirements * Assessing signs & symptoms * Casualty Management * Care of the unconscious casualty * How & when to use the Recovery position * Adult / children’s CPR * Adult / children’s choking * Action on minor injuries * Action on seizures * Severe bleeding * Treatment for shock * Recognising common heart conditions During the course the delegate will be assessed on various practical activities ie, CPR, bandaging, the use of the Recovery position. There is a written test at the end of the course & the delegate will be asked to complete an accident report on a theoretical situation.
