ADVANCED SLR CAMERA PHOTOGRAPHY

UPDATED 20150915 10:52:01

This course is designed for photographers wishing to progress their photographic skills. We will cover 3 core elements, the technical aspects of digital SLR cameras, mastering the challenges of shooting in particular environments, and the aesthetic and compositional elements of photographs. You will be visiting three locations chosen for their specific photographic opportunities; including Peterborough Cathedral which will give us a wealth of opportunities to capture its dramatic architecture and religious significance and Fenland Greyhound Stadium introduces motion into our photography, in challenging lighting conditions. You must have a Digital SLR camera to join this course. Point and shoot, Bridge cameras and compact system cameras are unsuitable for this course. A Digital SLR camera is large and you can change the lens. If you are uncertain, please check the model on the internet or by calling reception at City College. Each evening bring your Digital SLR camera, your camera's manual and your lens(s). You will need a fully charged battery and an empty memory card. You will find a tripod particularly valuable. If you don't have one see if you can borrow someone else's. You may also find a cable or remote release helpful, if you have one. Please wear suitable clothing for the evenings on location. There may be other photography or IT courses that might interest you. Please have a look at the latest prospectus or the website for more details.
