Have you ever looked at piece of furniture and thought 'I wish my chair looked like that.' When you come onto this course you will learn how to give furniture a new lease of life. Your course will cover: How to choose the appropriate fabric, tools and finishing items; How to re - cover furniture using various fabrics and techniques; restructuring the item, finishing techniques; recognise furniture from different periods, no previous knowledge or experience is required. A pair of scissors, tape measure, small hammer. Some tools can be borrowed from the tutor and you will be advised on the purchase of suitable equipment. Bring a piece of furniture with you - suggested items are dining chairs, stools, ottomans, headboards or Victorian button back chairs. A notepad and pen may be useful if you wish to take notes.
