Apprenticeships are a popular choice for people aged 16 or above, looking for on the job training and the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications whilst earning a wage. Most of your training will be directly linked to the career you have chosen, gaining practical experience in the workplace. An Apprenticeship in Hairdressing will develop your employability skills and give you valuable experience of a variety of routine hairdressing related activities. You will be working in a salon environment where your duties could encompass many areas of hairdressing such as, communicating with colleagues and clients, dealing with customer enquiries, carrying out numerous practical hairdressing tasks etc. Your exact duties will depend upon your employer. Where possible staff from Bishop Auckland College Apprenticeship Team will help you find an employer and place of work (although students who are already employed are welcome to apply if sponsored by their employer). Your offer of Apprenticeship training will be dependent on work places being available.
