On this course you will study a stimulating and involving programme, which explores Musical Theatre, and develops your Singing, Acting and Dance skills. Through individual and ensemble activities, you will enhance and develop your performance practice. You will work on a number of practical project and explore vocational opportunities, as well as researching the cultural and historical background of musical theatre. This course will help you develop your performance and textual analysis skills and it complements a wide number of other subjects on the curriculum. Your core units for this qualification will work towards helping you understand about the roles and opportunities in musical theatre work, and ensure that you are able to apply the appropriate rehearsal and performance skills for those roles, through exploring your practical performance skills in your classes and rehearsals. You will work on your Acting, Singing and Dancing skills, exploring a range of different musical styles, whilst at the same time developing your knowledge and appreciation of the genre through research and analysis of key elements and figures of musical theatre. Year 1: You will work on different styles of musical theatre , presenting a range of examples for performances during the year Year 2: You will work on your personal performance skills for progression and take part in the production of a musical
