This Level 4 qualification is for those who are going to be responsible at management level, e.g. Finance Team Leader, Finance Officer. The course includes work on financial statements, budgets, financial performance, accounting systems, credit management and business tax. The AAT was formed in 1980 and is sponsored by four UK Chartered Accountancy bodies. They are the world's largest dedicated professional body for qualified Accounting Technicians and people employed in a variety of accounting and financial roles. The Association's qualification is appropriate for all finance and accounting staff undertaking financial and accounting duties, whether in industry and commerce or the public sector, or in the offices of practising accountants. It is a highly regarded qualification and the Association is growing rapidly. There are three criteria for membership of the AAT: proven competence, a minimum period of approved work experience and evidence of suitability for membership and commitment to the Association. On completion of the course, plus a minimum of a years-approved work experience, students are eligible for membership of the AAT.
