For staff working in or looking to gain entry to roles in Quality Assurance. They replace the V1 Internal Verifiers Award. The new qualifications will quality assurance people with the opportunity to develop and improve their practice as well as achieve a professional qualification specific to their role. They have been developed for those working in accredited and non accredited learning delivering qualifications on the NQF and QCF framework. The Edexcel Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance Awards (2 awards 1 Certificate) consist of a combination of competence based and knowledge based units (1) Award in understanding the internal quality assurance of assessment processes and practice (6 credits in 1 mandatory unit) Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment. This is a knowledge only unit for those who want to know about internal quality assurance e.g. managers or those new to quality assurance and verification. (2) Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (12 credits in 2 mandatory units) Understanding the Principles and Practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment and Internally Assure the Quality of Assessment. This is for those who internally quality assure assessor and assessment but who do not manage the centre or other internal quality assurers. (3) Certificate in leading the internal quality assurance of assessment processes and practice (17 credits in 3 mandatory units) Understanding the Principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment. Internally assure the quality of assessment. Plan Allocate and monitor work in own area of responsibility. This is for those who have wider quality assurance responsibilities and manage others develop policies or manage external quality assurance (EQA) visits. This is a qualification for lead internal quality assurers.
