For beginners intending to use chainsaw for domestic, business or leisure activities to achieve basic competence award as required by PUWER 1998 Regulations. At the end of the course there is a competence assessment by NPTC assessor. This can be carried out at the college or place of work and is booked directly with NPTC. Course content includes: * Identify the appropriate protective clothing and equipment * Work Preparation * Servicing and Maintaining the Saw * Cross cutting of timber This course is pre-requisite to other chainsaw and arboriculture courses, such as: Felling and Processing Trees up to 380mm ( Previously known as CS31) Felling Trees over 380mm ( Previously known as CS32) Chainsaw from a Rope and Harness ( Previously known as CS39)
