You will complete 14 mandatory units from a range which includes: -Investigate the catering and hospitality industry -Health and safety in catering and hospitality -Healthier foods and special diets -Prepare and cook, stocks, soups and sauces -Prepare and cook poultry -Prepare and cook bakery products. You will also be asked to complete a number of optional units that can be undertaken to complete the qualification. The units you choose to complete will depend on your specific job role which will be identified with a skill scan. This will allow you to tailor the qualification to your specific needs. Assessments are carried out in the workplace on a pre-arranged day and time with your competence for each unit being assessed during your normal work role, and over a period of time. Your knowledge will be covered by multiple choice question sheets.Once you have enrolled onto the programme you will be assigned an assessor that will visit you in the workplace regularly. They will complete assessment plans and reviews with you to keep you on target. They will support you in the collection of the required evidence needed for your qualification through different assessment methods such as; professional discussion, observations, written questions, verbal questions, witness statements and any assignments.Learners who achieve Level 2 can if in an appropriate job role progress onto Level 3 Professional Cookery or Hospitality Supervision and Leadership.
