The course aims to teach students how to prepare plentiful, healthy and economical meals for the whole family. A range of meals will be covered. Students will learn skills such as: - Selecting and preparing different cuts of meat - How to cook cheaper types of fish - How to adapt recipes to include seasonal ingredients. - How to make ingredients stretch further. - How to use leftovers to make meals.The course will be practical with students watching and tasting demonstrations and then cooking dishes themselves. All completed dishes can be taken home.Students can go onto other Eastleigh College cookery courses.
