All students study the first five units which are mandatory, following on from here, students are able to pick from specialist pathways depending on their occupational bias (Adult Pathways or Children and Young People Pathways). Mandatory Units include: 1. Use and Develop Systems that Promote Communication 2. Promote Professional Development 3. Champion Equality, Diversity and Inclusion 4. Develop Health and Safety and Risk Management Policies, Procedures and Practices in Health and Social Care or Children and Young Peoples Settings 5. Work in Partnership in Health and Social Care or Children and Young Peoples Settings Assessment is via means of a portfolio of evidence made up of internally assessed assignments. In addition work based competence is assessed by means of a peripatetic assessor visiting the workplace to undertake direct observation of the candidate.Once you have enrolled onto the programme you will be assigned an assessor that will visit you in the workplace regularly. They will complete assessment plans and reviews with you to keep you on target. They will support you in the collection of the required evidence needed for your qualification through different assessment methods such as; professional discussion, observations, written questions, verbal questions, witness statements and any assignments.Potential job roles for learners working towards this qualification include Managers and Assistant Managers of Residential Care, Day Services, Domiciliary Care and Community based services.
