Introduction to Basic Soldering Techniques

The course involves the delivery of theory and practical lessons within our Electrical Installation facilities here at Eastleigh College and is delivered by a specialist from within the Electrical Industry. The course engages theory and practical activities which includes completion of various soldering based practical activities and leads to a final assessment; making a basic electronic circuit. This is a short introduction course, lasting for one day and leads to a College certificate of attendance upon successful completion.The course covers a range of practical (list below not exhaustive): - Health and Safety Precautions Hand Tools and Equipment Soldering Equipment, including use of Irons. Solders and Fluxes Correct Preparation Techniques, including components / wires / cables Basic Soldering Techniques and Practices Inspection, Fault Finding, and Diagnosis De-soldering Techniques You will learn a range of skills and attributes related to Basic Soldering as identified above.Successful completion of this course, you may wish to study further short courses in Electrical Engineering; for more information, please refer to our website. All courses are delivered at Eastleigh College.
