Art Appreciation

This course involves exploring the theory and practice of art, craft and design, researching art and design movements in different cultures or periods of time. Relevant visits to galleries, museums and exhibitions will play a role in the research, along with knowledge of the lives and techniques of artists, and the political and historical influences upon art.You will learn by the analysis of selected works of artists, designs and crafts people, looking critically at how art works in the selected context of time, social and political influences. As a non-accredited course there is no assessment- a college certificate will be awarded on request.Students could progress to other creative art courses.
