The aim of this framework is to attract young people into the engineering manufacturing industry, and will provide apprentices with the skills, underpinning knowledge and transferable skills required to operate at operator or semi-skilled level in an engineering or manufacturing environment carrying out a wide variety of defined activities. The framework consists of 4 different elements which include, The Performing Manufacturing Operations NVQ, The Performing Manufacturing Operations Technical Certificate, The Employers Rights and Responsibilities and Functional skills in maths and English. The Mandatory units are: -Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements And -Promoting effective working relationships Or -Contributing to effective team workingOnce you have enrolled onto the programme you will be assigned an assessor that will visit you in the workplace regularly. They will complete assessment plans and reviews with you to keep you on target. They will support you in the collection of the required evidence needed for your qualification through different assessment methods such as; professional discussion, observations, written questions, verbal questions, witness statements and any assignments.The EAL Level 2 First Diploma in Manufacturing Technologies will provide a direct path into employment within sectors such as Manufacturing, Engineering and Design or on to further education in related engineering and technology subjects or other generic further education programmes. The qualification also gives learners an opportunity to progress onto the EAL Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Manufacturing Technologies which has routes to one of the following apprenticeships and/or Industry recognised qualifications at level 3: Apprenticeships: - Performing Manufacturing Operations - Performing Engineering Operations
