The course is suitable for those who - Wish to acquire basic language skills to facilitate simple communication with Deaf people. Wish to progress to more advanced study such as BSL Level 1. Are parents, family, friends or colleagues of Deaf people. This course is designed to enable students to acquire a basic ability to communicate with Deaf people using BSL on a range of topics that involve simple, everyday language. The course aims to provide students with information about Deaf people, the Deaf community and Deaf culture. By the end of the course, students will be able to, - Understand and use a limited range of simple words and sentences in BSL. - Take part in simple, predictable conversations in BSL. - Give and follow simple directions or instructions in BSL. - Give and follow simple, familiar staents or descriptions in BSL.
