Portrait Photography(Funded by Staffs County Council)

This course is for experienced SLR users and - or photography enthusiasts The course is directed at people comfortable using an SLR who want the confidence to take Portrait photographs with good technique. We will look at framing, lighting, focussing and social techniques to get the best results. We will also look at the use of different accessories to enhance your photographs. Topics and styles of Portraiture looked at will include, formal and informal portraits, environmental portraits and the unconventional portrait. You will be taught about techniques, both technical and theoretical, and have the opportunity to take images to a brief. You will also learn some of the history of this style of Photography and how this affects the images we create. You will be expected to have a DSLR and experience in using exposure techniques. Sessions will be practical and theory based.
