The course is delivered through units where you will study through different methods, including practical tasks, activities and exercises. The course is delivered through a range of units where the emphasis is upon a practical approach to learning covering, both generic engineering principles as well as specific mechanical, electrical, electronic and managerial subjects. Mandatory Units- - Business syss for technicians - Communications for technicians - Engineering project (120 GLH) - Mathematics for technicians - Electrical and electronic principles - Mechanical principles and applications. Specialist Units- - Health, safety, risk assessment and welfare in the engineering workplace - Properties and applications of materials - Engineering drawing for technicians - Selection and applications of programmable logic controllers - Principles and applications of electronic devices and circuit - Principles and applications of analogue electronics - Construction and applications of digital syss - Computer aided drafting - Engineering primary forming processes - Engineering secondary - finishing processes and techniques - Further mathematics for technicians. In addition, you will learn skills that are required in any career choice, including health & safety, confidence building, social and practical skills, and English and Maths. We also offer English and Maths GCSE resits.
