This course is for you if you want a career in the Prison Service, Fire and Rescue Service, Paramedics, Security Services, the Armed Forces or the Police. The course provides a basic overview of the skills and helps you to develop the mental and physical abilities required in your chosen career. This course is a fun mix of physical activity and classroom learning. It involves a variety of units where you will learn about- Public services careers - Improving health and fitness for entry into the uniformed public service - Practical teamwork in the public service - Map reading using ordnance survey maps - Introduction to expedition skills - In addition, you will learn skills that are required in any career choice, including health & safety, confidence building, social and practical skills, and English and Maths.
