AQA A level Chemistry 2 yr course CONTENT OF COURSE: Paper 1: (Inorganic Chemistry and some Physical Chemistry) 35% Inorganic chemistry, relevant practical skills and relevant physical chemistry equilibria, acids and bases and redox. Paper 2: (Organic Chemistry and some Physical Chemistry) 35% Organic chemistry, relevant practical skills, and relevant physical chemistry Paper 3: (Practical skills, data handling and synopsis) 30% The course covers the three key branches of chemistry: organic, inorganic and physical; and also allows pupils to develop analytical skills in a series of core and advanced practicals. PROGRESSION ROUTES: At university, there are a huge range of degree courses available to study either Chemistry itself or combined with other subjects such as: Medicinal Chemistry, Forensic Science and Toxicology, Pharmacology, certain courses require a GCE in Chemistry. These include courses such as Chemical Engineering, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Biological Sciences, Environmental Science, Pharmacy and Dentistry.
