Graphic design is the discipline of visual communication; the design practice will provide techniques in both technical applications through to analytical interpretation. Graphic design contributes to our social, cultural and economic well-being and, as such, is a constantly changing and dynamic subject to study. If you enjoy art & design and feel that you would like to extend your interest in graphic communication then this could be the right course for you. We are proud of the ways that our students invent and make art. The work comes about because of the energy, enthusiasm and passion of the practising tutors and students themselves. Not only will you enhance and develop your creative, visual, interpretive and technical skills, you will also develop other important skills such as communication and time management. This course will enable you to experiment with, develop and use a full range of media from computer graphics to traditional practise through varied design processes. The first year concentrates on investigation of ideas, materials and problem solving, The second year aims to develop personal investigations in a creative and imaginative way. Throughout the two years various we make visits to Southampton University, galleries and talks are also arranged in house.
