Advanced Apprenticeships are a popular choice for young people aged 16 - 24 looking to become fully qualified in their chosen field whilst earning a wage. Your training will be directly linked to the career you have chosen, gaining practical experience in the workplace, backed up by attendance at college on one day per week.An Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering will develop your employability skills and give you valuable experience of a variety of engineering related activities. You will be working in a workshop environment where your duties could encompass many areas of work such as manual machining, CNC and CAD. Your exact duties will depend upon your employer.Where possible staff from College Work Based Learning will assist in finding you an employer and a place of work (although students who are already employed are welcome to apply if sponsored by their employer). Your offer of an Advanced Apprenticeship will be dependent upon suitable work placements being available.

Name: Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship - Machining 15/16 Qualification title: Vocational study not leading to a recognised qualification, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies (SSA 4) Qualification type: Assessment You will be continually assessed throughout your training. Some of the assessment will take place in the workplace, plus you will take some external tests/examinations for functional skills (if required) and technical certificate. Your progress will be reviewed regularly and achievable targets set to ensure you complete your Advanced Apprenticeship on time.
