Apprenticeships are a popular choice for young people aged over 16* looking for on-the-job training and the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications whilst earning a wage. Most of your training will be directly linked to the career you have chosen, gaining practical experience in the workplace, backed up by attendance at college.An Advanced Apprenticeship in Wood Occupations Level 3 will develop your employability skills and give you valuable experience of a variety of routine woodwork related activities. You will be working in a construction environment where your duties could encompass many areas of the construction industry. Your exact duties will depend upon your employer.Where possible staff from College Apprenticeships Training will find you an employer and a place of work (although students who are already employed are welcome to apply if sponsored by their employer). Your offer of Advanced Apprenticeship training will be dependent upon work placements being available.An Advanced Apprenticeship is equivalent to 2 'A' Levels.* Please note priority is given to applicants under 19 years of age. Due to funding arrangements, places may be limited for those aged over 19.
