Apprenticeship in Personal Training Level 3

UPDATED 20150902 09:14:47

Apprenticeships allow 16 plus year olds to start work and earn a wage while learning new skills that lead to nationally recognised qualifications. Apprenticeships are designed with the help of employers in the industry so they offer a structured programme that takes Apprentices through the skills needed to do a job well. Most of an Apprentices training takes place on the job but they will also have to complete off-the-job training within the College. If you would like to combine employment in the Fitness Industry sector with acquiring a qualification you can undertake an apprenticeship. On an apprenticeship you will combine working and receiving a wage whilst studying towards a qualification. You will normally attend college one day a week whilst gaining valuable practical experience in the workplace. You will work towards an apprenticeship framework this includes a NVQ Level 3 in personal training a Level 2 Technical Certificate and a Level 2 Functional Skills Qualification. The NVQ will be assessed in your workplace; the other elements of the framework are achieved through attendance at Middlesbrough College. Before being enrolled onto an apprenticeship programme you will need to have a firm offer of employment secured. The apprentice NMW applies to all 16 to 18 year old apprentices and to those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. If the apprentice is aged 19 and / or has completed the first year of their Apprenticeship the employer must pay the NMW appropriate for their age. A breakdown of wage rates is available on the GOV.UK website.
