This course is designed to develop the basic skills needed to look after yourself and your home and work towards living in the community/ living independently. The personal care element contains topics including household shopping looking after clothes and cooking. The independence skills relate to personal development for example self-advocacy and leisure topics such as health fitness and hobbies. There is also a community element that includes eating out accessing helping services exploring art and knowing your local area. Students will have a personal tutor to provide support throughout their time at college. They will also study maths and English as part of their studies.
