Our Level 1 Workskills programme is designed to prepare you to move on to a course in one our many vocational areas across college or progress to employment. It not only provides you with a useful stepping stone towards developing your confidence to move into your chosen subject area but will also support you to develop your skills in English and maths and lead towards a Level 1 qualification.You will study a wide range of units including - Taking part in an activityWork ExperiencePreparing for WorkSkills for living in the communityUndertaking an enterprise projectThe programme has a focus on not only developing your employability skills but also supporting you to develop greater levels of independence including travelling independently budgeting your finances and independence skills.You will also get the chance to develop your English and maths skills throughout the year at a level appropriate to you which will lead to a qualification.In addition you will go out on work placement and sample the real world of work and gain some valuable supported work experience both within the college and outside with a local charity or employer.
