Level 1 Floristry is a part time course - 2 hours per week over 25 weeks. The course is suitable for over l8's and mature students. The course will suit anybody who has an interest in floristry and would like a certificated course. Throughout the course you will study floristry designs from each section of the craft from creating body flowers, sympathy flowers, gift flowers, themed designs and wedding flowers. You will look at the inspiration behind designs allowing you the opportunity to look for your own inspiraiton and buy materials and make the inspired design.
Name: Floristry Award Level 1 Qualification title: Award in Creative Craft (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment You will keep a basic portfolio of evidence including photographs and 'how to ' guides of each design made together with a small self evaluation and photos, internet, magazine articles listing research and inspiration for each design. You will be assessed weekly in class through verbal discussion with your tutor. You will need to show in your portfolio where your inspiration has come from before commencing each design. You will make a final piece of work at the end of the course. Learners will also be assessed in their compliance with Health and Safety requirement and upon their completed portfolio at the end of the course. Feedback will be given to learners in relation to each task and also on portfolio progress. All students will complete SMART targets each week to enable them to progress.
