Hairdressing NVQ Level 2

You may have recently achieved your NVQ Level 1 or already be working in a salon and looking to gain a qualification. Either way, our course offers you the training and experience you need to develop a great career in the field. Our NVQ Level 2 provides you with the minimum qualification needed to qualify and register as a hairdresser, so you can become a Junior Stylist as soon as you finish your last assignment! What will I be doing? Our course balances theory with some great hands-on experience. At our on-site salon Fountains, you will learn how to colour, cut, style, set and blow-dry hair. You will also learn how to advise and consult with clients, and develop important teamwork and customer service skills. As you progress, you will begin to take on more demanding roles. As part of your course, you will carry out a work placement for one day a week, which will give you a valuable insight into the commercial world of hairdressing and provide some great practical experience. We also offer a one-week work experience placement in April. Every January, we organise an Enrichment week full of workshops, talks and training activities. From sessions on Make-up and Bridal Hair to visits from top companies such as Steiner, our Enrichment week is an excellent opportunity for students to top up their skills and explore a range of new topics. We even offer trips to places such as Aston and Finchers in Birmingham and the opportunity to experiement with ear piercing and hair extensions!
