An exciting hands-on course focused on adventure sports and outdoor education delivered by Land & Wave in partnership with The Purbeck School What will you learn? Rock Climbing, Kayaking, Coasteering, SUPing, Bushcraft, Canoeing, Expedition Planning & more... Teaching, coaching & instructor skills; Lifesaving, rescue and first aid; How to inspire people using the great outdoors. How you will learn? Much of your time on the course will be spent outside of the classroom training along Dorset's stunning coastline. Practical, vocational training is strongly supported by time in the classroom studying important theory which forms the basis for coursework. Where will it take you? The outdoor adventure sector is a vibrant, growing industry with multiple career options. Students typically go on to careers such as teaching, coaching, the police force, armed forces and the sports industry. This course provides the academic and professional qualifications required to lead on to full time work or higher education. We also provide a range of optional vocational training after you complete your course. What you will need to study this course? You must have 5 GCSEs at A* - C, including English and Maths. You should be active with a strong desire to learn new skills and push personal boundaries. This course suits active people who love being outside and prefer a hands-on, practical way of learning. Students should have a desire to deliver life-changing experiences for people in the great outdoors.
