This Level 3 Mechanical Engineering course was a new course that started in September 2013 in the new £7million Sir Bill Taylor Futures Centre. A new workshop facility with the latest engineering technology will be used to teach students interested in Engineering. It covers a wide range of topics including Engineering Maths, Further Maths, Mechanical principles, Electrical principles, Project, practical work in fitting and machining, Health and Safety, Business, communication in engineering, Engineering Materials, Computer aided design, Computer aided Manufacturing. By the end of this course students will be more employable and have a good understanding of what engineering employers require. Progression to university is available after this course, providing grades meet entry requirements.
