The course comprises of an AS Level and an A Level section. Students will study the AS Level in their first year at College and if they are successful they will progress onto the second year and achieve the full A Level. AS Level Biology units include: Cells, including Cell Structure, Cell Membranes, Cell Diversity, Cell Division and Cellular Organisation, Exchange and Transport, including Exchange Surfaces, Breathing, Transport in Animals and Transport in Plants, Molecules, including Biological Molecules, Nucleic Acids and Enzymes. A Level Biology units include : Communication and Homeostasis, including Communication, Nerves and Hormones and Excretion, Energy, including Photosynthesis.
