Guitar for improvers

You may have a little knowledge or had some tuition and want to restart or you may just want to brush up on your existing skills. Either way, this course is designed for you! Learn to play the guitar in a relaxed, informative, anecdotal and fun atmosphere. Develop your existing skills and learn new ones to be able to play songs which, as much as possible, you choose. By the end of the course you can expect to be able to do the following: •Know the basic essential chords to be able to play a wide variety of songs •Developed your strum and fingerpick in a variety of styles •Be able to accompany yourself/others, to improvise and ‘jam’ •Increased confidence to perform to an audience About the tutor: Tim Barratt has over 30 years of playing experience and 25 years of guitar teaching experience. He has played in over 20 bands and musical acts, from acoustic duos to rock and tribute bands. He also has experience of teaching both privately and in groups. Many previous students are now regular gigging musicians.

Entry requirements

Your own guitar. Or you could borrow one from a friend for the first one or two sessions and advice will be given on the purchase of an instrument. Alternatively, an instrument can be purchased from the tutor. Your tutor will supply Chord sheets, tablature, song sheets and other handouts during the course. Equipment required Your own guitar.
