The course is designed to build on your existing knowledge of German and move you to a level of "fluent GCSE". You will be expected to understand and use the German language through a variety of sources (e.g. TV news programmes, radio and newspaper articles, Internet, songs, novels and plays.) You will study contemporary aspects of German speaking countries with the main focus on Germany: •The media; television, advertising and communication technology •Modern culture; film and cinema, music and fashion •Healthy living; sport and exercise, health and well-being, stress, drugs and alcohol, holidays •Family and relationships; family, friendships, marriage and partnership
