This is an opportunity to learn different media and find out what suits you. You will have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of media and produce finished pieces of art work.During the course you will learn by demonstrations group discussion pair work and individual practice. You will gain an introduction to a variety of media: pencil charcoal chalk pastels and acrylic paint. Projects will be introduced by the tutor and then tailored to suit individuals.Projects will include: landscape portrait still life architecture or your own personal project. As well as learning the media you will learn some fundamentals of drawing and painting such as: line tone proportion composition and basic colour theory. There will also be the opportunity to look at the work of other artists for inspiration and ideas.By the end of the course you will have gained more confidence in selecting and developing media and ideas.
