Our Catering and Hospitality courses are predominantly practical with additional theories to help your understanding and knowledge. You will work in a variety of situations including workshop sessions, taught kitchen and restaurant practical classes, as well as lectures and seminars. You will work in the College’s stylish commercial restaurant and bistro, Farringtons’ which has a fully licensed bar and three professionally equipped kitchens. Split into two pathways, you can choose to study Professional Cookery (Food Preparation and Cooking) where you will gain enhanced catering skills and learn more advanced preparation and cooking methods or Food and Drink Service Supervisory where you will gain enhanced front of house skills, ultimately teaching you how to 'run' a restaurant.
