Painting - Monochrome to Colour

This course is for everyone who wants to move on from pencil or monochrome drawings to colour paintings. The course is specifically designed to follow on from the ‘Drawing techniques for Beginners’ course, but anyone can join in the fun during this creative adventure! The techniques shown will help you understand colour and how to reproduce what you see, that will enable you to move forward on your journey in the creative world.

Entry requirements

You should bring: •1” masking tape •A set of watercolour or Acrylic paints. •Pencil Sharpener •Eraser •1 colour photograph that you would like to produce as a painting during the course. •A3 watercolour or Acrylic pad at least 140lb (300g/m2) depending on your paints •Pencils – 4H, HB, 2B Your tutor will advise you about other requirements as the course progresses. It is suggested that you wait until at least a week before the course is due to start before making any significant purchase of materials.
