This course is for school leavers who wish to progress into the equine industry. It will enable students who have little experience with horses to learn basic stable management skills and riding skills. Ideal if: you have little experience with horses but would like to learn basic stable management skills and riding skills. You will need a basic knowledge of riding which includes walk and trot unassisted. No formal qualifications are required but you must show commitment and enthusiasm for the equine industry. You'll learn: practical stable management skills of mucking out, grooming and general horse handling. You will learn how to groom horses, muck out horses, clean horse tack, feed horses, ride and handle horses under direction. Expect: a variety of trips throughout the year visiting industry establishments and the opportunity to undertake work experience. You'll love: regular tuition in riding and the opportunity to ride in student competitions. You'll go onto: the Horse Care Equine Skills City & Guilds level 2 Diploma or an apprenticeship.
