Computing apt awards Access to HE Diploma Level 3

UPDATED 20150817 13:06:47

This course is a must if you missed out on education earlier. It is suitable for anyone who does not have entry requirements (eg A levels, National Diploma, AVCE etc) but wishes to start to study at HND or Degree level in order to enter a career in the field of Information Technology, Computing or Multimedia. The course would particularly suit returners to work, or unemployed who want to gain experience, skills and confidence in a good environment, or disabled people who are able to manage long hours at a computer. How do you study? You will study a range of units each having the potential to be awarded at level 2 (equivalent to GCSE) or at level 3 (equivalent to A level). Each unit is worth 3 credits. For successful completion of the access course you will need a minimum of 45 credits at level 3 and 60 credits overall. Each unit at level 3 is awarded a pass, merit or distinction. The units that you will study will come from your core subject area; this can be found by clicking on the more info box. Along with your core subject units you will study a range of subjects that build and prepare you for academic study at university level. On many courses this could include GCSE equivalences in Math and English, Study Skills and ICT. How will I be assessed? Assessment will take the form of coursework, presentations or in class assessments depending on the unit you are studying. Help and support - We also support you through the university application process with tutorials. These are designed to offer guidance and support throughout the learning process. We do however recommend checking the entry requirements for your course at your preferred university. This course is a must if you missed out on education earlier.
