Ideal if: you have a passion for performing and wish to follow this career path; this course offers a chance to develop physically and vocally as an actor. You'll need: four or more GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and mathematics, or equivalent qualifications. Some experience of performing arts is also required. You'll learn: to develop your skills through a variety of workshops, leading to a performance every term at exciting regional venues. The course is largely practical and includes training in areas of performing which may include acting for film, television or stage as well as directing. Expect: to develop your writing, research and textual analysis skills to support your practical experiences. You will also be given responsibility for technical aspects of productions such as costume, set design, lighting, sound, make-up and publicity. You'll love: the realistic experience of working as a professional performing artist within a working theatre company. You'll go onto: employment in the performing arts industry or progression to university level studies, such as our HND in Small Scale Theatre.
