Psychology answers all those questions about people that you were afraid to ask. It will help you understand why do I think like this? or why does she do that? The focus of Psychology is the study of mind and behaviour. We examine research which has been carried out by Psychologists and others into human behaviour. We examine the factors which make us human and events that transform the human experience. We explore factors which make normal people commit evil acts such as the genocide of the Nazi regime; we investigate mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, stress, depression, OCD and phobias. All of which can be applied to us all as individuals, as a way to stay psychologically healthy and inform us of why the people in our lives do the things they do. Studying Psychology is a life changing course that will facilitate any further study or career. It equips students with the understanding of other people s behaviour.
