Geography is the exciting study of the natural and human world and how the two interact. A level geography takes a close look at the challenges we face in the 21st Century and how we are planning to meet these challenges. The world we live in is changing. Geography allows you to see why and how it is changing. It will enhance communication skills, literacy and numeracy, IT skills, spatial awareness, team working, problem solving and other insights into environmental issues. AS level (Year 1) you will study: Unit 1: Global Challenges - In this unit you will study a range of topics such as Natural Hazards, Climate Change and Globalisation. Unit 2: Geographical Investigations - This gives you an opportunity to undertake geographical research, including fieldwork which takes place on a residential trip. You will investigate two topics in depth, Crowded Coasts (physical geography) and Rebranding Places (human geography). The residential trip does incur a cost which will be notified to students at the time of booking
