Are you interested in the human mind and the way people work? Social Sciences allow you to explore this. You will be introduced to a variety of topics, issues and ideas, many related between your subjects developing a multi-disciplinary approach, while giving you transferable skills necessary to study subject related undergraduate level courses at university. This course will examine contemporary sociological perspectives and issues. The course is designed to facilitate your knowledge of the subject as well as providing you with core skills on which to build your sociological knowledge. Among the topics covered will be culture and identity, women and work, poverty and social exclusion. You will be expected to develop a critical approach to working developing writing and discussion skills. An open classroom atmosphere will allow you to exchange ideas to further your understanding and develop your confidence. You will also study Economics, Politics and Psychology as part of this programme.
