You will have three days in college, with a mix of theory and practical work in specialist animal units, for example reptile, aquarium and mammal. You will also have one day at a work placement per week. The course involves industrial visits to zoos, sanctuaries and animal centres. On this programme, you will: - Study and develop skills in the science, husbandry and welfare of animals and more specific aspects of the industry, - Learn to understand and promote animal health, - Plan and monitor animal feeding, - Learn about wildlife management and rehabilitation, - Study pet store design, principles of aquatics, dog grooming, estate skills, animal biology, animal behaviour and communication.
