The FdA course is designed to support students in making links between academic theory and experiences in their work setting. The nature of this practical and work-based approach means that students must have an ongoing placement of at least 1 day a week in a relevant setting. This may be a paid or voluntary position. Students who lose their work place setting will be advised on alternatives but if they cannot find alternative positions they will be unable to continue on the course however, the variety of settings that would be appropriate is very wide. Modules may include the following (subject to change) - Introduction to Higher Education Study - The Developing Child - Policy and Practice in the Early Years - The Importance of Play - Supporting Early Literacy and Numeracy Development - Developing Professional Practice - Inclusive Practice for all Young Children - Reflections on Professional Practice Students will study 90 credits in year 1, 90 credits in year 2, and 60 credits in year 3.
