Painting and Drawing Level 1 Award

This enjoyable and intensive course will introduce learners to the basic skills, materials and techniques of painting and drawing in an exciting and accessible way. It is ideal for beginners, or those who would like a refresher experience. This course also serves as an excellent introduction to the programme of accredited courses in the Visual Arts area, and a great starting point for personal creative development.

Name: Painting and Drawing Level 1 Award Qualification title: Award in Creative Craft (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment The teaching is structured to be informative and stimulating, steadily building the level of challenge as the course progresses. Teaching methods will include expert presentations and demonstrations, structured exercises group and individual projects, 1 to 1 tutorials on personal projects, group discussions and group presentations. The 2 Units of this course will be formally assessed against the criteria of the Level 1 Award in Art and Design. The final assessment will take place at the end of the course but you will also be assessed in mid- term reviews and end of first term assessments where some of the units of the certificate will be completed. Throughout each assignment you will receive feedback from your tutor, both in relation to work you are doing in the studio and individual homework. The cost of basic materials you will use on the course is covered by the course fee. If you are required to make small purchases for a particular session, tutors will inform you giving advice and guidance to you prior to the session.
