Ground Based Chainsaw Operator, NPTC Level 2 Award

This course will cover the NPTC unit Level 2 Award in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting You will learn safe practice and operational chainsaw maintenance and safety checks . Assessments will be arranged by the course instructor and will take place after the completion of the course. Payment is made directly to the assessment centre and cost are in the region of GBP180. You must provide your own equipment. This includes helmet (Groundwork EN 397) with ear defenders and mesh visor (EN1731); chainsaw protective gloves EN381-7; chainsaw trousers; Type B preferred for ground units or type C for tree climbing work(chaps are not acceptable); chainsaw boots EN345-2(spats are not acceptable); chainsaw -max 15 guide bar maximum with sufficient fuel and chain oil, personal first aid kit containing a large wound dressing; whistle; suitable non snag waterproofs; high viz vest.
