This is the single award GCSE Science course. It is an ideal qualification for students considering taking a broader-based approach to Science as it has elements from each of the main science subjects. This is a good subject to consider if you are thinking about a possible career in teaching or nursing where a GCSE Science of C grade and above is required.

Name: GCSE Science Qualification title: GCSE in Science A Qualification type: Assessment How science can be used and applied is presented in three major themes. Students are examined on each at the end of the course. Students also need to take a controlled assessment that covers a minimum of one practical investigation based on the topics taught.The controlled assessment is not tiered but students take either the Foundation Tier or the Higher Tier for written papers.
