This one year, pre-degree course following the BTEC Foundation Diploma specification, allows you to experience the breadth of opportunities available in art and design and assists you to choose the right degree course. In the first term you complete short 2 week projects giving you an experience of different areas of art and design. These include graphics, drawing and painting, 3D and sculpture, fashion, printmaking and photography. You then specialise in your chosen for the rest of the academic year. In tutorial you are supported through the UCAS process to apply to Higher Education Courses or to direct employment. The Foundation in Art & Design remains a major entry requirement for most BA (Hons) Art and Design subjects. We also have a compact agreement with the University of the Creative Arts which enables a number of our students to progress directly to a range of degree courses offered by this university.
